Welcome

Since 1980, we have enthusiastically come together from the Scranton, PA area and surrounding communities to share in our common love of beautiful writing. It is through our love of this art that we can promote the study and practice of calligraphy, nurture an appreciation for our art form, and learn and grow together.

Our History

The Calligraphers' Guild of Northeastern Pennsylvania was founded in 1980 by five founding members: Melissa Conway Luther, Sheila Cutler, Rev. James Doyle, Eleanor Kraemer, and Margaret Towne. Charter members from 1980 also include four current members. Presently, our guild includes individuals from local counties of Lackawanna, Wayne, Monroe, Susquehanna, and Luzerne, the city of Scranton, as well as other cities, and also the states of New York, New Jersey, and even Tennessee!
